Putting our best face forward
The front garden had never been pretty. The most you could say is it was functional. Covered in stone gravel it was merely a place to keep the bins, edged with an unruly hedge for privacy. An original grubby tiled path let the way to the front door.
That was then. My Dad and I spent four days removing stones and ground sheeting, lowering and flattening the ground level, making trips to the dump and running back and forth to B&Q to buy cotswold stone, bamboo edging, concrete and new weed-suppressing sheeting we had a completely new front garden. We planted our newly created flowerbed with lavender to form a bee-friendly hedge to the doorway and bamboo in wooden containers to screen out the neighbours.
